Alvin Kamara Jersey Salute to Service
User Avatar Forum: Airdrop Collection

The New Orleans Saints have placed tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and veteran running back Shane Vereen on injured reserve Alvin Kamara Jersey Salute to Service , and cut veteran reserve quarterback Tom Savage while trimming their roster down to the regular-season maximum. The Saints, who announced the moves Saturday, also traded defensive tackle Devaroe Lawrence to Cleveland for "future considerations" and waived four draft choices from the past two years. The 2018 draft choices waived were: offensive tackle Rick Leonard, a fourth rounder out of Florida State; defensive back Natrell Jamerson, a fifth-rounder out of Wisconsin; and defensive back Kamrin Moore, a sixth-rounder out of Boston College. Defensive end Al-Quaddin Muhammad, a 2017 sixth-rounder out of Miami, also was waived.Younger players who remain on the 53-player roster for now include second-year tight end Dan Arnold, second-year offensive lineman Cameron Tom, and running back Boston Scott, a 2018 sixth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech.Arnold, a 6-foot-6 converted receiver out of Wisconsin-Platteville, is entering his second pro season after spending last year on injured reserve. The 5-foot-6, 203-pound Scott, who grew up in the New Orleans area Authentic Tommylee Lewis Jersey , showed promise as a runner and return man during the preseason. He joins the team at a time when it needs running back depth due to Mark Ingram's four-game suspension to start the season because of the Pro Bowler's positive test for a banned substance. One of Scott's chief competitors for a role in the return game was veteran receiver Brandon Tate, who was among the Saints' final cuts.Another veteran receiver let go was Michael Floyd, who was brought in near the beginning of training camp as he tries to bounce back from a series of off-the-field setbacks that derailed his once-promising career with Arizona.New Orleans is back to having just one defensive back named Marcus Williams on the roster after cutting the veteran cornerback by that name only weeks after signing him as a free agent. The former New York Jet and Houston Texan intercepted a pass for a touchdown during the Saints' preseason victory over the Chargers in Los Angeles, but that wasn't enough to keep him around. The younger Marcus Williams, a 2017 second-round draft choice out of Utah, is projected to start at free safety as he seeks to bury bad memories of his missed tackle of Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs on the last play of last season's playoff loss in Minnesota. The Saints also parted ways with their 2015 second-round pick, Hau'oli Kikaha, an edge pass rusher who showed promise as a rookie but who missed the 2016 season after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament for the third time. He came back from that injury to make the team last season but struggled to work his way into the regular playing rotation and was a healthy scratch several times.Other players cut by the Saints were: linebackers Jayrone Elliott, KeShun Freeman and Colton Jumper; defensive tackles Jay Bromley, Woodrow Hamilton and Henry Mondeaux; defensive ends Alex Jenkins and George Johnson; defensive backs Sharrod Neasman, Linden Stephens and Robert Nelson; receivers Tanner McAvoy and Keith Kirkwood; offensive linemen Josh LeRibeus, Nate Wozniak, Michael Ola, Andrew Tiller, Landon Turner and Don Barclay; tight ends Garrett Griffin Tre'Quan Smith Jersey , John Phillips and Deon Yelder; quarterback J.T. Barrett; and running back Jonathan Williams.Players cut by New Orleans could potentially wind up on the club's 10-player practice squad. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — When Demario Davis reflected on his decision to sign with New Orleans last offseason, the reasons the linebacker listed had little to do with the style of defense the Saints played or even the role the club envisioned for him.Mainly, he said, it was the opportunity to play on the same team as Drew Brees — who Davis sees as the game’s greatest quarterback — and the likelihood of experiencing the playoffs for the first time in his seven-year career.“That’s the whole reason why I’m here, man. I didn’t have to be recruited. I looked at it as a situation where my only goal here is to get Drew another Super Bowl ring. So I just came to be part of the show,” Davis said. “That was huge. The best quarterback to ever play the game. I just want to be a part of it.”Suffice it to say, Davis hasn’t regretted a thing. He’ll play in his first playoff game Sunday in the Superdome against Philadelphia after what, by his own account, has been his best season yet.Playing primarily weak side linebacker — as opposed to the middle spot he played previously with the New York Jets — Davis finished this season with 110 total tackles, five sacks, 11 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a critical fumble recovery that sealed a victory over Pittsburgh, and four pass breakups.“He’s a physical player. I think he’s a good pressure player,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. “He gives us a little pop there relative to his physicality.”Not all of Davis’ numbers this season were career highs Manti Te'o Jersey , but statistics do not tell the whole story, Davis noted.“The numbers are up there with some of my best seasons, but definitely efficiency” has improved, he said. “That’s my goal every year is to be a better player than I was the year before and I think I’ve done that.“I’ve gotten more efficient as a pass rusher. I’ve been better out in space in coverage,” Davis continued. “When you’re holding one of the top running backs, or when you’re holding one of the top tight ends, and they don’t have their best day when they play you, that speaks a lot about your game. It may be an untold stat, but something I’m looking at.”Generally, the middle linebacker wears the helmet with the ear piece allowing him to receive the formation call from the defensive coordinator and relay it to teammates on the field. Davis wears it for the Saints, even though he only plays in the middle intermittently, normally moving outside while 2017 third-round draft choice Alex Anzalone occupies the inside.“He’s made a big difference. He’s a natural-born leader,” Saints defensive tackle and 2016 first-round draft choice Sheldon Rankins said. “For him to be able to step into a huddle in front of a grown group of men and command them and get everybody lined up in the right spot has been effortless for him and then, obviously, he’s been a hell of a player.”Davis Limited Rick Leonard Jersey , who turns 30 on Friday, grew up in Brandon, Mississippi, and played at Arkansas State before starting his NFL career as the Jets’ third-round draft pick in 2012. He joined Cleveland as a free agent in 2016 before being traded back to the Jets in 2017. New Orleans was his third team in three seasons, but he signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Saints and now seems all but certain to at least make it to Year 2.“He can do everything,” Rankins said. “You don’t have to bring guys off the sideline for him. If a team wants to come out and go five-wide, well, you can put him on a Darren Sproles-type guy and trust him in coverage. And then if a team wants to come out and run the ball at you and he’s still effective, I think that’s the sign of a great player.”Davis has had 99 or more total tackles in five seasons, and said he expected to assume a leadership role in New Orleans, even though he was in his first season and joining a team that included veterans such as 2017 All-Pro end Cam Jordan.“I’m just myself. Leaders are born and it just comes with the territory. Everywhere I’ve been, they’ve called me a leader in the locker room. I think it’s just attached to my personality,” Davis said. “I care about the guys in the locker room. … I’m going to lead by example on and off the field and I think guys just kind of gravitate to that. They gravitate to guys who set high standards for themselves and demand the same out of them.” Custom San Francisco 49ers Jerseys

This is part 2 of a two part look at the Packers’ third down defense against the Vikings. Part 1 is here.On to the second half we go.So far we’ve seen the Vikings go 4 for 7 on third down https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Antoni...son-Jersey , converting at a 57% clip.Pettine dialed up one blitz and it got beat, but otherwise he has called some college level defense, with plain cover 2 man and zone and very little disguising or pressure schemes.Vanilla pudding stuff. I love pudding, don’t get me wrong, but vanilla is the worst flavor. @ me.Let’s move on.Play #8 - third quarter, 3rd & 7Packers play cover 2 here, but give it a cover 1 look with the outside CB’s playing near the LOS and Ibraheim Campbell about 10 yards deep while Kentrell Brice is 15+ yards off in the middle of the field and Josh Jones playing as a linebacker. The Vikings run their outside receivers on posts, which are run short as soon as they recognize the zone coverage; both Thielen and Diggs sit down in the open areas underneath the safeties and behind the linebackers. They are open, and...Cousins didn’t pull the trigger and scrambles for a gain of one.Rodgers has received a lot of flak for not finding the open receivers this year, and Cousins falls victim to the same mistake here. This looks like a pretty decent window to me, as Diggs sits:And it doesn’t appear that he drops his eye level until his third or fourth step up in the pocket.Oh well, his loss and our success.Play #9 - third quarter, 3rd & 7A classic Pettine move here - show your two interior LB’s as blitzing, then drop them out in coverage. The secondary plays a cover 3, and everyone passes off their receiver excellently.Cousins’ first read is to his right but the two receivers are smothered and he is forced to come back to his left.Josh Jackson shows us a bit of the future with excellent deep zone coverage (hello future safety), so Cousins comes to his checkdown. By the time his eyes get there Martinez is breaking on him.Kenny Clark works his way off the initial double team to sack Cousins, and Green Bay holds Minnesota to a field goal. This is the definition of a coverage sack, and a very solid play all levels of the defense including the DC. Success.Play #10 - fourth quarter, 3rd & 6Finally, another blitz on third down.Pettine sends both Williams and Martinez from the defense’s right side, which is also the side that the Vikings have a receiver bunch.Green Bay goes with cover three again, and the Vikings run a flood play to the bunch side:If you’re as smart as I think you are, you probably noticed a problem with the above photo. Both Alexander and Morrison cover the short route, leaving Thielen wide open to run in behind them and pick up a big gain. The blitz didn’t quite get there, and Cousins delivers a strike to a wide open receiver. This is what the flood play is designed to do against zone coverage; make the cornerback choose to cover the flat or carry back, and the quarterback chooses whichever he doesn’t cover.Fail.Play #11 - fourth quarter, 3rd & 1Well rub a dub dub Vince Biegel Color Rush Jersey , there’s not one but two rub routes by the Vikings here. Out of the I formation, Minnesota go play action and release the FB to the flat while Thielen runs a crossing route the opposite way; rub 1.On the other side, Rudolph runs a crosser to his left, and meets Thielen in the middle; rub 2.Green Bay appeared to have a miscommunication in their secondary; everybody was playing zone except for Williams, who followed Thielen on the drag. Alexander carried with Diggs who was running a deep corner, and this left the flat - where the fullback was headed - wide open.Morrison, who is about as fast as congress (politics, am I right?) tries to chase him down, but he’s too late and it’s an easy first down conversion.Morrison was visibly amped up after the play; I don’t think he was celebrating allowing a fullback to get 13 yards on 3rd & 1, but that’s just my guess. Fail.Play #12 - fourth quarter, 3rd & 5Another simple cover three call with a four man rush; the wide receivers were covered reasonably well and Cousins’ only real option was a checkdown to Kyle Rudolph; fortunately for Green Bay, Dean Lowry said no way.Honestly not entirely sure what that move by the OL is called; I’ve seen it only a few times this year and its always worked better than that. The general idea is that the DL will be leaning into the blocker, so the OL turns his torso, pulls the DL’s inside arm through while clubbing them in the back so they’ll fall over - like pulling the rug out from underneath someone. Success.Play #13 - fourth quarter, 3rd & 13If I told you that Antonio Morrison was asked to cover Kyle Rudolph one on one in the red zone, you’d probably cringe a bit right? Well that’s exactly what he was asked to do on this play.Green Bay goes with cover 1, manning up the receivers while Campbell plays the robber zone in the middle and Josh Jones has the deep middle.Cousins’ first two reads are to Rudolph running a corner route then to Thielen who comes underneath him on the cross.Morrison, knowing he had help to the middle, plays Rudolph to the outside perfectly which forces Cousins to look down to Thielen.Campbell sees the route coming and makes a great break on Thielen; if Cousins let go of the football when he wanted to, Thielen would have gotten lit up like a Christmas tree.Instead, Cousins pump fakes and is forced to scramble up in the pocket to make something out of nothing. This ended up as a huge play, as it came after the muffed punt.Minnesota ended up going for it on 4th & 2 and failing, giving Green Bay the ball back down 10 with nearly 5 minutes left. Success.Play #14 - fourth quarter, 3rd & 6This one hurt.Coming out of the two minute warning, Green Bay had no timeouts left. What do you call offensively when you’re trying to bleed the clock out but have 3rd & medium?Too long for a run play, too short for a deep shot...you call slants.A safe throw to the middle of the field, and if it’s not there Justin Vogel Jersey , a quick two step drop means you aren’t too deep in the pocket to either scramble forward for a yard or two, or at least mitigate yards lost on a sack. Even more obvious, it’s in a 2x2 set - TE & WR on one side, and two WR’s on the other. This allows for even spacing between the WR’s while also giving room for rubs on the routes.Everyone on the field saw it coming; everyone except for Tony Brown. Not a good sign when you end up doing this in coverageBig Griniggs is already cutting inside while Brown is turning to go deep.We all know what happened next; Brown and Campbell ran into each other and Cousins hit Diggs (on another throw behind him) for the first down. Ballgame. Fail. The second half saw a bit of improvement, with the Vikings’ offense only converting on 3 of 7 of their attempts, a 43% rate.Pettine called another cornerback blitz and while Williams was close, it blew up in their faces again. The defense held strong after the muffed punt but faced with a do or die situation with 2:00 to go, they flopped in the worst way imaginable. The thing that stood out the most, though, was the lack in coverage disguising and only sending a single blitzing CB on two of 14 attempts. The Packers are third in the league in sacks, but those sacks come from a wide arrange of players because Pettine has success in sending different guys.Injuries have forced inexperienced players to see significant playing time, but hopefully people can return from injury and everyone else can learn the blitz packages in the meantime because traditional, standard coverages didn’t work well. For the first time in years, Aaron Rodgers, the swaggering superhero quarterback, looked defeated. Standing at the podium following another second-half collapse in which the Green Bay Packers’ offense stalled and sputtered, the all-time great talked about the color changing in his beard and the ravages of time. This wasn’t the same player who used to run around throwing the championship belt at opposing sidelines, or who brought grape soda to press conference to troll the Vikings. This version of Rodgers, nearly 35, battled injuries for the second season in a row and hasn’t played to his lofty standards. There was no R-E-L-A-X or Run the Table鈩?talk. His eyes glossy and his voice wavering, it was fair to wonder who that quarterback was. It sure as hell wasn’t Aaron Freaking Rodgers. The same can be said for Rodgers on the field this season, where losing his running ability neutered his playmaking. His footwork deteriorated and even from clean pockets, and he is throwing off his back foot. At times, Rodgers looked more worried about not taking a hit to his knees than making a play, reminiscent of his 2015 season when the offensive line struggled and his receivers couldn’t get open. Those wounds carried into the 2016 season until he found his footing, literally and figuratively, for the stretch run. Rodgers Justin McCray Color Rush Jersey , and more importantly the Packers, need that inflection point this offseason. Reset the quarterback, get him re-focused, re-engaged, and re-stocked with talent. Too often this season, Rodgers simply looked dejected whether it was playcalls, receiver miscues or his own mortality and fallibility. In order to finish his career with a stretch worthy of his talents, Green Bay must make him its priority. If that seems weird to say about a team that just paid him the biggest contract in NFL history, let’s remember money doesn’t buy football happiness. In fact, the huge contract impairs the team’s ability to pay for those around him. Brian Gutekunst brought in weapons with Jimmy Graham and the trio of rookie receivers, but injuries to Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb robbed those smaller moves of any kind of big impact. Davante Adams and Aaron Jones represent a starting point, but they aren’t enough. That said, it’s hard to look at what the Saints are doing in New Orleans for example and feel like the Packers shouldn’t be similarly explosive. Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara aren’t so much better than the Green Bay duo that it should make up for the difference in consistency and continuity. No, the difference is the coach. Rodgers’ issues with Mike McCarthy go back several years and it’s clear this team’s future lies with a different person in charge. Mark Murphy shouldn’t prioritize offensive scheme over all else; personality, culture, and team management all still matter for this team. But there’s no single factor the Packers should consider more than a new coach’s potential impact on Rodgers. There’s fitting symmetry here. McCarthy came to the Packers in the back nine of Brett Favre’s career with that Hall of Fame quarterback sliding into bad habits and playing uninspired ball. McCarthy refocused Favre, putting together in 2007 a spread attack similar to the one New England used that season to go 18-1, and took that team to the NFC Championship Game.Meanwhile, he mentored Rodgers, helping him revamp his mechanics and putting him through a quarterback school that has long been the envy of the league. That’s what the Packers need once again. Rodgers’ footwork degrades by the day. His confidence, particularly for a player whose arrogance and self-belief is a fundamental part of his greatness, must be rebuilt, and that starts with having faith in the plan. It’s harder to step into a throw with conviction when you’re not convinced at the snap the play will work. How can Rodgers be Rodgers, in all of his self-assured glory, if he’s not actually sure what he’s doing is going to work? At a certain point, he will start to wonder if he’s as good as he thinks, which appears to be the unfortunate point at which this team currently finds itself. A coach like Josh McDaniels https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Marwin-Evans-Jersey , himself arrogant and self-assured in the way the great ones often are, brings the bona fides of running one of the most adaptive, creative offenses in football, as well as the experience of handling an all-time great quarterback. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have seen everything, done everything. They need someone who knows how to communicate, hold them accountable, and still find new ways to engage them. Rodgers, one of the brightest minds the game has ever seen, has said he wants to be coached hard. McCarthy clearly hasn’t found ways to keep him engaged, to the point Rodgers admitted to Josh Rosen he has to basically goof around in practice just to stay mentally sharp. Tom Brady gets coached hard in New England and it’s made him better. Rodgers needs that kind of attention. He welcomes it. That could be enough. Geronimo Allison gets healthy, Equanimeous St. Brown and/or Marquez Valdes-Scantling take that Year 2 leap and this team takes off with a re-engaged Rodgers and a more modern scheme. Brian Gutekunst has to make sure. That means plugging the leak at right guard and finding better swing tackles as Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari age. Robert Tonyan may have a future as a move tight end, but with Marcedes Lewis and Lance Kendricks set to be free agents, the Packers could use a more impactful player next to Jimmy Graham. And while EQ and MVS have each flashed this season, banking on them to develop may simply be leaving too much to chance. Find a veteran receiver, even if it’s not a star player. Look what Rodgers was able to do back in ‘15 with James Jones, a player who simply knew where to be, where to go, and when. A new offense could mitigate the need for such precision. Brady, of the course of his career, throws to more wide open receivers than just about anyone in football. Someone like McDaniels could make everyone better. But there’s no room for error as Rodgers’ beard grays. Defensive centerpieces like Jaire Alexander and Kenny Clark offer a good start on defense. Kevin King, Josh Jackson, Blake Martinez, and even Kyler Fackrell offer hope for that side of the ball moving forward. Re-signing Bashaud Breeland could give the team the flexibility to move Jackson to safety. Drafting a pass rusher early and signing at least one other impact defensive player should give this defense enough of a boost. As Rodgers pointed out Sunday, the defense played well enough to win. The offense didn’t hold up its end. That can’t be acceptable with the best quarterback in the game under center. Mark Murphy and Brian Gutekunst need to do everything in their power to reassert Rodgers as the game’s preeminent player by putting him in a much better position to succeed. For years, he kept this team going on sheer talent and force and will. The league’s too talented and well coached now for that to be enough as Rodgers’ physical abilities begin to waen. Rather than Rodgers elevating a flawed team, it’s time for the team to start doing some lifting of its own.

EAST RUTHERFORD Giants Customized Color Rush Jerseys , N.J. (AP) — Trading cornerback Eli Apple and 2016 All-Pro defensive tackle Damon Harrison in the last week wasn’t the reason the New York Giants lost to the Washington Redskins. The new-look defense, which was also missing injured linebacker Alex Ogletree, actually was the reason the Giants had a chance to win in the 20-13 loss Sunday that sent New York (1-7) to its fifth straight defeat. It limited Alex Smith and the Washington offense to 13 points, and didn’t break down until Adrian Peterson scooted around the right side on a 64-yard touchdown run with 3:06 to play to open a 20-6 lead.“I think the guys stepped up,” Giants linebacker Olivier Vernon said. “I think the guys that had to step up stepped up and made the plays that they needed to make. We just came up short.”With Eli Manning and the offense struggling most of the game, the defense almost came up with a game-changing play late in the third quarter. Safety Landon Collins forced Peterson to fumble on a first-down run from the Giants 17.The ball hit the ground and Vernon scooped it up and ran 43 yards to the Redskins 39 with Washington clinging to a 10-3 lead.Following an incompletion, a pass to Odell Beckham Jr., for a 2-yard loss and a 9-yard pass to Bennie Fowler. The Giants had a fourth-and-3 at the Washington 32.Washington played a zone, as Giants coach Pat Shurmur expected, and tight end Evan Engram ran a 4-yard curl pattern. Manning put the pass in his hands and he let the ball slip through his fingers.“I thought we had what we were looking for, we’ve just got to execute it,” Shurmur said.On the sideline, Collins’ frustration was evident.“Every turnover you think is going to be different and I thought it was going to be big, but stuff happens New York Giants T-Shirts ,” Collins said. “They got a good defense over there, they’re doing a great job over there with their defensive coordinator and their guys that they have over there, and they got the stops.”Manning, who was sacked seven times, said no one likes losing. He said the players are working hard and competing, but they are just not making enough plays, especially on offense.“We just have to keep fighting,” said Manning, who threw for 316 yards but was intercepted twice by safety D.J. Swearinger. “The defense gave us a chance today and played outstanding. Offensively, we have to do our part. We are not scoring enough points. We are playing in close games and we are just not finding ways to win them, unfortunately.”Beckham was at a loss to explain what’s happened to the team this season. After posting a 3-13 record last season, much more was expected in Shurmur’s first season.“It’s definitely not where I want it to be, it’s definitely not what I envisioned this team being,” Beckham said of the record going into a bye week. “It’s definitely not why I worked the hardest I could have worked all offseason to come back and give my very best. I just don’t feel like on Sundays I get do that. If there is any frustration https://www.giantsfanshop.com/hats , that’s where the frustration comes in. All I want to do is come in and do whatever I can to help this team win.” The New York Giants came away with their biggest win in years on Sunday as they beat the Washington Redskins 40-16. This was the Giants’ first 40-burger since they and the New Orleans Saints put on a track meet back in week 8 of 2015. And unlike that game, 40 points was more than enough to win a game against an injury-ravaged Washington team. We did learn a lot from the game, and not all of it was as reassuring as the score would lead us to believe. The Giants can win the games they shouldI said in our weekly predictions that this is a game that the Giants should win. That this team hasn’t been winning in a sustainable way, but the Giants should be able to sustain it one more week, and they could. In fact, even before Odell Beckham was ruled out, I thought I was being ambitious when I said the Giants would score 32 points. After all, the Washington defense manhandled them the last time these two teams squared off. But that was about a gajillion injuries ago for Washington and the Giants have found some offensive rhythm after adding Jamon Brown. Despite winning four of their last five games, The Giants have NOT been beating the top teams in the league. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite, but being able to beat bad teams, to grind out wins against teams you are supposed to be able to beat, is a good starting point for a team building for the future. The next step will be playing for 60 minutes in those games, but we’ll get to that later.Evan Engram should be a bigger part of the offenseCan Engram block a 270-pound defensive end cold as an in-line tight end? No. But how many tight ends who can do that can turn a mesh concept into a 39-yard catch and run? With Beckham out New York Giants Hoodie , Engram emerged as the Giants’ top receiver, though Eli Manning spread the ball around well and Engram only made three receptions, but he still totaled 77 yards, which was enough. And while the Giants probably shouldn’t rely on him to block defensive ends, they can ask him to chip before doing things like this: The Giants cannot play with a leadThe Giants checked out when they sprinted out to a huge lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Ryan Fitzpatrick was replaced by Jameis Winston and that game turned into a nail-biter. The Philadelphia Eagles overcame a big deficit in the second half to beat New York. Chicago Bears nearly did the same thing last week. The Giants absolutely dominated this game, but they Giants’ defense once again checked out when the starting quarterback was pulled. The Giants had shut Washington out for the first three quarters of the game, and apparently the defense decided that was enough. Their effort was absolutely atrocious when Josh Johnson took the field. We can forgive rookie Kamrin Moore for hesitating and taking a bad angle to give up a touchdown catch and run — he had only been on the field for a single snap this season. But there were experienced defenders just standing around while Vernon Davis picked his way to a first down. As much as James Bettcher’s unit should be lauded for their work through the first three quarters and making sure Washington paid for each of their offensive mistakes, they should be read the riot act for how they played in the fourth. Good teams don’t check out just because they’re winning. But that has been a consistent theme for the Giants in the second half of the season, and it’s one that needs to end before they’re actually in contention for something. Giants’ fans should be happy to have Barkley and Beckham together for years to comeThe question of whether or not the Giants made the right move by drafting Saquon Barkley can (and probably will) be debated for years, and there won’t be an answer for years. But for now, the Giants might just have the best WR/RB tandem in the NFL. Barkley is the first Giant since Ahmad Bradshaw to have 1,000 yards in a season and reset the rookie TD record. He is likely the Offensive Rookie of The Year, and he is already one of the best offensive players in the NFL. At the very least his highlight package is already impressive with plays like these:

INDIANAPOLIS 鈥?Andrew Luck kept pleading with coach Frank Reich to stick with the ground game Sunday.Reich gladly granted his wish. After throwing 164 passes the previous three weeks https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Henry-Anderson-Jersey , Luck watched his runners deliver the hard shots and took advantage of the openings by throwing for four touchdowns in a 37-5 rout over Buffalo.“When you run the ball really, really well, the byproduct is throwing the ball efficiently,” Luck said.It seems as though with the Colts getting healthy, the offense is more in sync.Running back Marlon Mack returned from an injured hamstring last week and the Colts responded with back-to-back season-high rushing totals. Even Buffalo’s No. 3 ranked defense couldn’t slow down the Colts, who ran for 220 yards 鈥?the highest total in Luck’s seven seasons.Indy hadn’t topped 200 yards since Dec. 18, 2011 against Tennessee, and Mack had a career-high 126 yards on 19 carries.Luck, meanwhile, went 17 of 23 with 156 yards, hooked up with receiver T.Y. Hilton for two TD passes, another to Mack and one to Eric Swoope. As a result, Indy (2-5) snapped a four-game losing streak, pulled off its most lopsided victory since a 37-3 victory over Jacksonville on Sept. 29, 2013 and finally celebrated the franchise’s 300th win since moving from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1984.Indy was in such command, Luck even made the wise decision to run out of bounds at the Bills 1-yard line in the fourth quarter rather than risk an unnecessary hit by reaching for the goal line.“I was really proud on the 1 where he ran out of bounds because I told him if you get into scramble mode take care of yourself,” Reich said. “So we had the conversation on the sideline and fortunately he listened.”The only thing that didn’t go according to script was Adam Vinatieri breaking Morten Andersen’s career scoring record.Vinatieri scored five points to move within five of becoming the NFL’s scoring leader despite missing two extra points in one game for the first time in his career. But it didn’t matter against the Bills’ struggling offense. Buffalo (2-5) has lost two straight and three of four despite benching turnover-prone Nathan Peterman and starting 35-year-old Derek Anderson in place of the injured Josh Allen.Anderson went 20 of 31 with 175 yards, three interceptions and lost a fumble in his first start since December 2016.Putting offensive coordinator Brian Daboll on the field for the first time this season didn’t help either. Buffalo has two touchdowns and 31 points in its last four games.“I just have to be better with the ball, have better awareness,” Anderson said. “I’m not going to pout about it. I expect more from myself. I came here to help this team win football games.”On Sunday, Luck did all the winning things. He hooked up with Swoope on a 17-yard pass early in the second quarter and found Mack wide open in the right flat for a 29-yard scoring play ?just before taking a hit. Mack’s conversion run made it 14-0.Hilton’s 5-yard TD catch extended the lead to 21-0 and Mike Mitchell’s 47-yard interception return just before halftime set up Vinatieri for a 36-yard field goal to make it 24-0.All the Bills could muster in the second half was a 34-yard field goal from Stephen Hauschka and a safety when Ryan Kelly’s snap sailed over the head of Luck and rolled through the end zone.“I think our team needed a game like this to see what happens when we do the little things right, and we did that,” Luck said. “It was a joy to watch.”INJURY REPORTBills: Buffalo started the game with only four active receivers before losing running back LeSean McCoy with a head injury on the second play of the game. McCoy’s replacement, Chris Ivory, left briefly in the third quarter but returned and finished with 16 carries for 81 yards.Colts: Defensive tackle Jihad Ward was carted off the field with an injured right ankle in the first quarter and Swoope left with a knee injury. Neither returned.STAT LINEBills: Buffalo did not have a sack. … Kelvin Benjamin had four catches for 71 yards, 32 yards coming on one reception.Colts: Indy rushed for 116 yards in the first half Joe Haeg Jersey , its highest first-half total since September 2009 and the sixth-highest total by the franchise since 1950. … Vinatieri has missed two or more extra points only four times in a season during his 23-year career.UP NEXTBills: Host division rival New England next Monday night.Colts: Will try to build momentum at Oakland before heading into the bye week.100View Gallery Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta LANDOVER, Md. 鈥?Quinton Dunbar watched in middle school as Larry Fitzgerald caught passes in the NFL.Years later, Fitzgerald was patting Dunbar on the helmet for a job well done.Dunbar helped shut down Fitzgerald and other receivers in Week 1, picking off Sam Bradford and looking like the kind of player the Washington Redskins envisioned when they converted him from wideout to cornerback. His next challenge is Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts’ passing attack as the Redskins look to start 2-0 for the first time since 2011.“Tough matchup,” Dunbar said. “He’s up there with the best of them in my opinion. You watch him, you see a guy who’s tough, smart, understands defenses.”Dunbar has already intercepted Carson Wentz, Eli Manning and Bradford in his career, evidence his instincts are worthy of the coaching staff’s faith. He had to embrace the “heart and mentality” of being able to make tackles, and he had five at Arizona.“I think it was one of his better games as a pro here,” coach Jay Gruden said. “He’s got to continue to make strides to get better and keep studying the game and the people he is covering.”Dunbar should continue to get plenty of playmaking opportunities because he’s starting opposite 2015 All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman. Luck, who missed all of 2017 with a shoulder injury, is coming off a 39 of 53 passing performance with 319 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Colts’ season-opening loss to Cincinnati.Luck 鈥?and then Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers in Week 3 鈥?are significant tests for Dunbar, who insists he looks forward to every matchup and doesn’t take anyone lightly. What he does is trust what he sees on film, combined with what coaches have taught him about the position. He’s has gotten to the point where he’s not a work in progress anymore.“I’ve been comfortable for a while,” Dunbar said. “(I’m) just trusting what the coaches wanted and the vision they had for me.” Some things to watch when the Colts visit the Redskins:HURRICANE READYHurricane Florence shifting south is likely to spare the Colts and Redskins from even rain on Sunday, but players and coaches are prepared.Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinatieri is three field goals away from tying Morten Andersen’s career record of 565 and is ready in case the conditions aren’t ideal.“I don’t know if you get a lot of practice in those types of conditions, you just have go out pregame, try and work through some stuff, kind of find out what the parameters are, and then the game dictates your attempts anyway,” said Vinatieri, who won two Super Bowls with last-minute kicks and helped the Patriots win their first Super Bowl by making two kicks in the snow of a divisional-round game following the 2001 season. “The game sometimes dictates that you’ve got to go out and try a kick that normally, maybe John Simon Color Rush Jersey , you wouldn’t.”Redskins QB Alex Smith has likewise played through everything during his NFL career, but doesn’t have any secrets about dealing with wacky weather.“It’s tough: fundamentals, attention to detail when you handle the ball every single play in weather, and obviously that’s a premium, you know, ball security, ball handling, in the pocket and things like that,” Smith said. “I wish I had some kind of secret sauce or something, but I don’t. I just try to do the best I can.”PROTECTION PLANLuck was sacked twice last week and took seven additional hits. While offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni was impressed with the effort, the Colts’ offensive line was not at its optimal. Longtime left tackle Anthony Castonzo missed the game with an injured hamstring, forcing Joe Haeg to move from the right side to the left, and veteran J’Marcus Webb played right tackle. This week, Castonzo is expected to be back and Haeg is likely to swing back to the right side 鈥?where he spent most of his first two NFL seasons. Webb went on injured reserve with a hamstring injury Tuesday.“It’s extremely tough because you want to be out there, helping the team,” Castonzo said. “So I’m looking forward to getting out there, yes.”DOUBLE THREATWashington’s 182 rushing yards in Week 1 led the NFL as Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson put together the mix-and-match, one-two punch Gruden hoped they’d be. While Thompson is a weapon in the passing game and can turn on the speed outside, Peterson has the straightahead style and ability to bounce runs anywhere.“When he’s on time, he’s great,” left tackle Trent Williams said. “When he’s not on time, he improvises and is still able to do some great things. He’s just a Hall of Fame back and he’s one of the best to ever touch the football, so he’s going to allow you things like that where he just makes plays.”

OAKLAND Cleveland Browns T-Shirts , Calif. (AP) — As much as the Oakland Raiders felt like they might have let a couple of winnable games slip away to start this season, they might have stolen one away from the Cleveland Browns to spoil Baker Mayfield’s first career start.Derek Carr led a game-tying drive in the final seconds of regulation after a replay review took away a Cleveland first down and the Raiders got their first win since Jon Gruden’s return to the sideline by beating the Browns 45-42 on Matt McCrane’s 29-yard field goal in overtime Sunday. The Raiders (1-3) blew second-half leads in each of the first three games and didn’t trail any of them for a single second in the first three quarters before erasing deficits of 14 points and eight points to beat the Browns (1-2-1) and give Gruden his first win since 2008.“We haven’t fixed anything yet,” Gruden said. “We have a lot of things we have to get better at. I think it is pretty obvious. We played some good football for stints.”The Raiders rode a roller-coaster in this game, falling behind 28-14 in the third quarter before rallying for a 34-28 lead in the fourth, thanks in part to two fumbles by Mayfield. But the Browns answered with two more TDs and the Raiders appeared done when Carr threw two straight incompletions from the 9 to turn the ball over on downs with less than two minutes to play.Carlos Hyde ran three times and appeared to have a first down that would have run out the clock only to have it overturned when officials ruled his elbow touched the ground short of the marker.“I definitely thought that we had the first down,” Hyde said. “But they changed the call. We got to get it right there. If we’re going to win the game, we got to get that one.”The Raiders took over at their 47 with 1:28 to go and Carr led a game-tying drive reminiscent of 2016, when he had seven fourth-quarter comebacks. After failing to deliver late in the first three games this season, Carr threw a 7-yard TD to Jared Cook with 30 seconds left and then added the game-tying 2-point conversion to Jordy Nelson.Carr finished with 437 yards passing and four TDs.“The start of this year and half of this game has been some of the hardest stuff I’ve ever had to deal with, because it’s frustrating things,” Carr said. “I feel the best — physically https://www.brownsfanshop.com/hats , mentally, all of those things that I ever have. But then I screw something up somewhere along the way. I’ll tell you this though, one thing I just said and looked to our guys and said fight.”Here are some other takeaways:BAKER’S DAYMayfield threw for 295 yards and two TDs in his first career start but also had two interceptions and lost two fumbles. Those turnovers helped prevent him from becoming the third Browns QB out of 30 to win his first start with the team since the franchise returned in 1999.“He’s going to learn,” coach Hue Jackson said. “He’s got football intelligence. Today, as he goes through it, he’ll understand, and we’ve talked about it a little bit, just how important those things are. You got to be team-protecting in certain situations, but you don’t want to rein him in, because I like the things he’s doing.”BEAST MODEAs the Raiders struggled to move the ball early in the game, Marshawn Lynch let his teammates know it on the sideline. He then responded with his biggest game in years Cleveland Browns Hoodie , running for 130 yards in his most productive game since 2014 and inspiring his teammates by running through several tackles.“He was saying basically that we’re putting the game on our backs,” left tackle Kolton Miller said. “They’re running behind us, it starts with us, he gave us really encouraging words. He said ‘I’m going to run with y’all’ and that really boosted us.”CHUBBS RUNSBrowns rookie Nick Chubb scored on runs of 63 and 41 yards, while carrying only three times all day. His 63-yard TD run was the longest by a Browns rookie since Lee Suggs had a 78-yard score on Dec. 28, 2003, and the third-longest run in the NFL this season. Chubb is also the first Browns rookie RB to surpass the 100-yard mark since Terrence West on Sept. 7, 2014.MCCRANE’S DAYThe Raiders were forced to turn to their third kicker this week when Mike Nugent was placed on IR with a hip injury after taking over for the previously injured Eddy Pineiro. They turned to rookie McCrane, who was initially signed this spring by Arizona as an undrafted free agent after setting the Kansas State record for career FGs. McCrane missed his first field goal from 47 yards and then a 50-yarder on the opening possession of OT before connecting on the game-winner.
